The Reports section of Settings sets up the brief: a short note, weekly or daily, with what happened in money, why shoppers stalled, and one sentence the app said. It goes to an email address, a Slack channel, or both. The same figures are on the app’s pages; the brief is for the owner who does not open the app every day.

Settings

How often. Weekly, Monday morning (default); every morning; or off. Send to. An email address. Empty means your store’s email address. Email delivery is switched on per install by NextIntent; until it is, the section says so, Slack still works, and the preview is always available. Slack incoming webhook. Paste an incoming webhook URL from Slack (it starts with https://hooks.slack.com/). To create one: in Slack, Apps → Incoming Webhooks → Add to Slack, choose the channel, copy the URL. The brief posts to that channel. Press Save.

Buttons

Send this week’s now. Composes the brief for the last seven days and sends it to the email and Slack you saved. The result shows beneath: “Email: sent. Slack: posted.” The time of the last send is shown beside the button. Preview the brief. Opens the brief in the app as it would be sent, so you can read it before setting up delivery. See The brief for a walk through its contents.

What it contains

Three numbers, one restraint line, the top reasons, and one sentence. For the full description see The brief.

Why a brief

Of everything cart apps do, the thing merchants keep is the short recurring note that says what happened in money, with one real example. The brief is that note, with the same figures as the Money page so the note and the page never disagree, and with the app’s restraint stated (how many shoppers it stayed quiet for) beside what it did.
