A product note is one sentence about a product, written by you, that NextIntent may say to a shopper who is stuck on that product’s page. It is the only fact on the sheet the app cannot read from Shopify on its own, because only you know that the hoodie runs small.

Where the field is

When the app is installed it adds two fields to every product. Open any product in Products and scroll to the Metafields section at the bottom:
  • NextIntent note. One line a shopper may be told on this product’s page.
  • NextIntent note link. Optional. A path on your store the note links to, for example /pages/size-guide. If empty, the note links to the size guide path from Settings → What it may say, if you set one.
Type the note, save the product. The facts sheet rebuilds within a minute and Settings → What it read from your store → Product notes counts one more.

When it is said

A shopper on the product page switches the size or another option three or more times, does not add to the cart, and has been on the page 45 seconds. See The moment. At that point the card shows the note, exactly as you wrote it, with the link beneath it if there is one. A shopper on a product with no note gets nothing. The moment is recorded on Moments as “Stayed quiet, no fact to state”. This is the most common silence on product pages, and it is on purpose: the app will not invent a fit note.

What to write

Write what you would say across the counter. One line. Examples:
  • “Runs small. Most people take one size up.”
  • “True to size. Between sizes? Size down for a snug fit.”
  • “The 40 mm fits wrists up to 17 cm.”
  • “Ships flat-packed; assembly takes about ten minutes.”
Avoid:
  • Anything about the shopper (“we noticed you’re comparing sizes”). The app drops sentences like that.
  • Offers (“10% off today”). A note with offer words is dropped unless offers are allowed, and even then the note is for fit, not for discounts.
  • More than one sentence. The card is one line.

Which products to start with

You do not need a note on every product. Start with the ones where shoppers stall. Reasons shows “flipping options” moments by product page, so after a few days in watch mode you can see the five products where a note would have been said most, and write those five.

What it is worth

A shopper switching between M and L four times on a $68 hoodie page is one line away from adding it to the cart. The note is that line. On Money, product-page moments credited to a note are counted like any other: the shopper saw the note, and ordered within seven days.
