# FAQ

> Short answers to the questions store owners ask before and after installing NextIntent for Shopify.

Short answers, with a link to the page that has the long one.

## Do I have to let it talk to my shoppers?

No. In watch mode you see who got stuck, where, and what it would have said, and nothing is shown to anyone. It is free with no end date. See [Watch mode](/shopify/how-it-works/watch-mode).

## Is there a trial?

There is no trial, because nothing needs one. Watch mode is free for good. Active mode is 5% of the orders from shoppers the app spoke to, under a cap you set, and nothing else. See [Pricing](/shopify/billing/pricing).

## Will it annoy my shoppers?

It says one sentence, once, only to a shopper who has stopped, and the card can be closed with one click. Most visitors never see it. See [What shoppers see](/shopify/how-it-works/what-shoppers-see).

## Will it give away discounts?

Not unless you say so. Offers are off by default. When you turn them on, a code is named only to a shopper whose own code did not work. See [Discount codes](/shopify/settings/discount-codes).

## Where does it get what it says?

From your store: your shipping profile, your refund policy, your active codes, your product prices, and the notes you write on products. It never makes up a price, a policy or a promise. See [What it reads from your store](/shopify/getting-started/what-it-reads).

## What does it know about my shoppers?

How they move on the page: where they pause, what they go back to, what is in the cart. It never sees a name or an email address. See [Privacy and data](/shopify/privacy-and-data).

## Why was a shopper "held back"?

A random share of stuck shoppers is left alone so Money can compare what they buy with what the shoppers spoken to buy. It is the proof behind the numbers. See [Held back to compare](/shopify/how-it-works/held-back).

## Why did the card not show when I tested?

Almost always because you kept moving. The app waits for real stillness, 30 to 50 seconds in most situations. The moment's page on **Moments** says exactly why. See [Troubleshooting](/shopify/troubleshooting).

## How do I know a credited order is real?

Open it from the ledger. The moment shows the sentence and the time it was shown; the order has to come from that shopper within seven days, and is credited once. See [Money](/shopify/reports/money).

## What happens when I hit my cap?

Active mode pauses and the store drops to watch mode. Home and Settings show how many shoppers have been left alone since and what they would likely have bought. Raise the cap and it resumes. See [The cap](/shopify/billing/the-cap).

## Does it work with my popup tool?

Yes. Set **How to speak on the page** to your popup tool and the sentence is delivered through a campaign you design. Supported: OptiMonk, Justuno, Privy, Wisepops, Klaviyo on-site forms. See [What it may say](/shopify/settings/what-it-may-say).

## Does it slow my store?

The script loads after the page and never blocks it. The card's check is one small request every six seconds while the tab is in front, for fifteen minutes at most. See [The app embed](/shopify/getting-started/app-embed).

## Does it send emails or texts?

No. It speaks on the page while the shopper is there, and never contacts anyone afterwards.

## Can I get my data out?

Yes. Two CSV files from **Settings → Your data**. See [Exports](/shopify/reports/exports).
